CRIST Redesign

Overview
CRIST is a database of MOOCs offered by various online sites, such as Coursera, edX, and Future Learn. These websites host courses from different universities and sources, ranging from computer science to language learning.
Client Goal
I was brought on to take the original design and uplift it to have a cleaner, more modern look that would attract users. In addition to this, the CEO also expressed his desire to give a more uniform and cohesive design across his suite of websites.
Solution
With the help of a centralized design system provided (Minimal UI), I was able to easily and quickly update the design into a more visually-pleasing and polished look.

Reading Flow
Rearranged the information by importance and updated spacing for better grouping.

Many of the changes were just visual updates for user clarity. Along with those, I also gave recommendations for readability, such as adding newlines in the class summary text taken from the original sites, and ease of use, like allowing users to click on course provider to become a filter when searching through the catalogue.

This project is one of the first where I was able to work one-on-one with a developer. I learned how to make precise comments on Figma and also learned a bit more about what is feasible and what is not for developers.
